Digital Work Card Expansion in Greece: New Sectors Included from 29 June

On  Monday 29 June, the new phase of expansion of the application of the Digital Work Card commenced.

This phase includes the following sectors:

Consulting services, advertising and other office activities
Repair sector
Warehousing and support activities for transportation (logistics)
Water and wastewater management
Gambling

The new expansion phase will be implemented on a pilot basis until 15 November 2026, while full implementation will commence on 16 November.

As with previous expansions of the Digital Work Card, during the pilot period there will be extensive consultation with the respective sectors, with a view to optimising the implementation of the measure, taking into account the specific needs and characteristics of each professional activity.

The first phase of the new expansion of the Digital Work Card began to be implemented on a pilot basis on 2 June and will last until 11 October in the following sectors:

● Human health activities (hospitals, treatment and diagnostic centres), excluding doctors
● Employment support activities
● Telecommunications
● Specific service sectors, such as hairdressing salons, beauty centres and dry cleaners
● Provision of services to buildings and outdoor areas, mainly cleaning services

Through the two new phases of expansion of the Digital Work Card, an additional 476,000 employees are covered. In total, the number of employees protected by the measure, following the new expansions, is estimated to amount to approximately 2,500,000.
