Scam Communications

1. About This Notice

Law firms are periodically targeted by individuals who impersonate them in fraudulent communications, typically for the purpose of deceiving recipients into transferring funds, disclosing confidential information, or acting on fabricated legal instructions. We publish this notice to help clients, counterparties, and members of the public identify legitimate communications from Bahas Gramatidis & Partners LLP and to act appropriately if they receive anything suspicious.

We are aware that impersonation attempts targeting law firms, including, on past occasions, our own, have been carried out using email addresses and domain names designed to resemble those of the firm. We take these incidents seriously and report them to the relevant authorities when they occur.

2. How to Identify a Legitimate Communication

All direct communications from Bahas Gramatidis & Partners LLP originate from email addresses ending in @bahagram.com. This is the firm’s sole operating domain. If you receive an email purporting to be from us from any other address – including addresses that closely resemble @bahagram.com but differ in spelling, punctuation, or domain suffix – it is not from us.

Our email domain is: @bahagram.com Any message purportedly from Bahas Gramatidis sent from a different domain is not legitimate. If in doubt, call us directly on a number you have independently verified before taking any action.

Common impersonation techniques include:

  • domain names that substitute visually similar characters (e.g. “bahagrаm.com” using a Cyrillic “а” in place of the Latin “a”);
  • the addition of words or hyphens to our domain name (e.g. “bahagram-legal.com” or “bahagrampartners.com”);
  • free or generic email services (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) used to impersonate a named lawyer at the firm;
  • communications that create artificial urgency, request unusual payment instructions, or ask you to keep the matter confidential from other advisers.
3. Third-Party Collaborators

In the course of certain matters, we work with third-party professionals – including counsel, experts, and other advisers – who may communicate with you directly. Where this is the case, we will introduce those individuals to you in advance, and you will be aware of their involvement before you hear from them.

If you receive a communication from a third party claiming to act in connection with a Bahas Gramatidis matter but whom you have not been introduced to, please contact us before responding or taking any action.

4. Financial Instructions and Payment Requests

Bahas Gramatidis & Partners LLP will never instruct you to transfer funds to an account that has not been communicated to you in writing, through verified channels, at the outset of your engagement. We will not change bank account details by email alone, and we will never ask you to make a payment urgently without prior notice.

If you receive any communication – whether by email, telephone, or other means – requesting a payment, a change of account details, or urgent financial action and purportedly connected to our firm, please stop and verify the instruction directly with us before proceeding. Call us on a number you have independently obtained, not one provided in the suspicious communication itself.

5. If You Receive a Suspicious Communication

If you receive a communication that you believe may be fraudulent and which purports to come from Bahas Gramatidis & Partners LLP, we ask that you:

  • do not reply to it, click on any links, open any attachments, or act on any instructions it contains;
  • contact us directly at info@bahagram.com or by telephone, using contact details obtained independently from this website or from prior correspondence, to verify whether the communication originated from us;
  • retain the original communication, as it may assist any subsequent investigation;
  • report the matter to the relevant authorities – in Greece, to the Hellenic Police Cybercrime Division at ccu@cybercrimeunit.gov.gr.

Unfortunately, we are not able to prevent third parties from sending fraudulent communications in our name, as they do not originate from our systems. Once informed of any such attempt, we take immediate steps to have fraudulent domains taken down and report the matter to our regulatory authorities and, where appropriate, to law enforcement.
