About
Maria is a Counsel at our firm and a key member of our Banking & Finance and Corporate practices. She regularly advises Greek and international clients on corporate, commercial, M&A, banking and finance matters. Admitted as an Attorney at the Supreme Court, her work spans the full arc of banking and finance transactions — from NPL securitisations and bond-loan issuances to cross-border syndicated financing and bank-sector acquisitions — alongside corporate advisory, commercial agreements and contentious matters.
Representative mandates include acting as transaction counsel to the originator in securitisations of non-performing exposures under Greek securitisation law, advising on structuring, transfer documentation, servicing arrangements and regulatory compliance; advising a listed company on a €110 million bond-loan issuance for the refinancing of existing indebtedness; advising a Greek banking institution on the USD 106 million acquisition of the Greek operations of an international bank (completed January 2024); and advising a major European financial institution on a USD 194 million multi-jurisdictional syndicated financing covering facilities agreements, guarantees and security packages. In litigation, she has represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in product-liability proceedings involving complex questions of regulatory compliance, causation and liability allocation, successfully mitigating both financial and reputational exposure.
Clients value her combination of commercial judgement, responsiveness and creativity, and her ability to deliver efficient, practical advice on complex transactions. She is committed to building trusted, long-term client relationships grounded in high-quality outcomes.
