About
Yanos is the Managing Partner of Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners and one of the most senior voices in the Greek legal market on large-scale government, privatisation and infrastructure work. For almost five decades, he has advised governments, public bodies, multinational corporations, aircraft lessors and financial institutions on transactions, reforms and investment projects that have shaped key areas of the Greek economy.
His work has included landmark privatisations led by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, major public infrastructure projects, cross-border investments into Greek transport, hospitality and real estate assets, and complex commercial arrangements involving both public and private stakeholders.
Additionally, he is widely recognised as a leading authority on franchising in Greece, having drafted the Greek Code of Ethics and the Greek Legal Terminology on Franchising. He is also closely associated with aviation law and aircraft transactions, having acted for foreign aircraft leasing companies operating in the Greek market for more than thirty years.
In 2024, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Railway S.A. (OSE), Greece’s state railway undertaking, with a mandate connected to the restructuring of Greek Railways. This appointment reflects a wider public-facing practice built around institutional reform, transport infrastructure and projects requiring both legal judgement and an understanding of the policy environment in which major decisions are made.
He has advised international hotel groups on hotel agreements across mainland Greece and the Aegean, foreign investors on acquisitions of hospitality and real estate assets, and acted in major transport mandates, including TrainOSE’s fifteen-year, €600 million Public Service Contract with the Hellenic Republic. For HRADF, he has advised on flagship projects including the redevelopment of the Olympic Athletic Centre of Athens, the Forest Protection Plan and the New Industrial Parks programme.
Clients turn to Yanos for strategic clarity in politically and commercially sensitive environments. He brings together transactional experience, policy awareness and a practical understanding of how major projects are approved, negotiated and delivered. His approach is direct and disciplined: he focuses on the real commercial issue, the institutional constraints around it, and the structure most likely to move the matter forward.
Yanos sits on the board of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Committee, is Honorary President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils in Washington, DC. He is admitted to the Athens Bar and is a member of the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association
