Overview
Intellectual property is central to the value of modern businesses, from technology, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals to media, hospitality, retail and industrial sectors. We advise Greek and international clients on the protection, commercialisation, transfer and enforcement of IP rights under Greek and EU law.
Our work covers trade marks, designs, copyright, patents, know-how and trade secrets, as well as the commercial arrangements through which those rights are licensed, assigned, developed, distributed and exploited. We advise on IP issues in franchising, distribution, technology transfer, brand licensing, sponsorship, merchandising, software, advertising, content, M&A and joint ventures.
The practice is particularly active for international brands, consumer businesses, retailers, franchisors, hospitality groups, technology companies and investors operating in or entering the Greek market. We support clients on brand protection, infringement risk, counterfeit goods, design conflicts, copyright matters, licensing structures, IP ownership and IP due diligence.
IP issues often arise as part of a wider commercial or strategic matter. We work closely with our corporate, commercial, data praotection, technology, media, competition and disputes teams where brand, content, software, data and technology-related rights need to be considered together. On the enforcement side, we have particular experience in trade-mark infringement, counterfeiting, design-rights disputes and supply-chain IP due diligence for retail and consumer-brand clients.
Services
We advise brand owners on trade mark and design protection, portfolio strategy, ownership, licensing, coexistence, infringement risk, counterfeiting and enforcement. Our work covers Greek, EU and international rights, with filing and prosecution support coordinated through specialist agents where required.
We advise on copyright ownership, authorship, assignment, licensing and exploitation across creative, media, publishing, software, advertising, entertainment and digital-content matters. We also support clients on rights clearance, commissioned works, moral rights, content use and copyright issues arising in campaigns, platforms and transactions.
We advise on the protection and commercial use of patents, know-how and trade secrets, including in technology transfer, R&D, employment, joint venture and collaboration arrangements. Our work includes confidentiality frameworks, invention ownership, access controls, trade secret protection and contractual safeguards under Greek and EU law.
We advise on IP licensing, assignments, technology transfer, co-development, franchising, distribution, sponsorship, merchandising and other commercialisation arrangements. We also handle IP due diligence and transaction support in M&A, financings, investments, joint ventures and restructurings where intellectual property is a material asset.
We represent rights-holders and defendants in IP disputes before the Greek courts, including infringement, invalidity, unfair competition, breach of licence, misuse of confidential information and trade secret claims. Where disputes involve parallel proceedings or cross-border portfolios, we coordinate Greek-law strategy with foreign counsel.
